The popular women’s sitcom has been around for years and has a huge following, enough to make a feature length movie with a sequel on the way. But the show is known to divide opinion with its fans claiming that it provides an accurate depiction of single female life with their own sexual identities whilst its objectors claim that it glamorises materialism and promiscuity among vulnerable women. Others, often known as men, are altogether confused by the show and why it has such a dedicated following.

A recent poll of nearly a 1000 women surveyed an equal amount of followers and non-followers attempted to determine if the show had any affect on the sex lives of its viewers with surprising results. The amount of ‘SATC’ followers who initiate sex was more than double the national average while 24% described themselves as ‘unhappy’ with their sex lives. Despite this 69% claim to always have an orgasm during sex and think about it 3 or 4 times more than non viewers and 42% claim to be ‘excellent’ in bed.

The SATC fans also have more regular sex, a few percent more than average and have lower mean age of losing their virginity 17.75, nearly a whole year earlier than everyone else! The single life seems to have appealed to the Carrie fans with 20% fewer married than the national average and unsurprisingly nearly half own at least one sex toy. What is unclear is if they are pulling a ‘Samantha’ and misusing a neck massager.
